Deep Life Reflections: Friday Five
Issue 118 - Imprints
Welcome to Issue 118 of Deep Life Reflections.
This week, we take a visual journey. Reflections don’t always need words. Images can be just as potent: imprints that defeat time and speak a universal language of our era.
With current events feeling especially weighty—particularly here in the Middle East—this feels like the right moment to turn to a visual language that captures fleeting seconds, tells stories, preserves emotions beyond words, and allows for creativity and hope.
Below I’ve selected ten of my favourite photos from the recent Berlin Photo Awards 2025, including the overall winner and other award-winning works across various categories. I was honoured to be named a Finalist in these awards for my submission, ‘Walk’. This was the first time I’d entered my work for critical review, so being shortlisted among such talented photographers was a welcome surprise.
Each of the ten images I’ve chosen reflects the quiet, contemplative tone of Deep Life Reflections. I invite you to interpret them as you wish. If one especially resonates or if you’ve seen an image lately that’s stayed with you, please feel free to share it with me.
Join me as we explore a visual journey this week—a reminder of the extraordinary depth this world holds, and what photography can reveal.

This week’s cover image is from my Berlin collection, shot in 2016. It features The Fernsehturm (Television Tower), constructed between 1965 and 1969 by the German Democratic Republic as both a functional broadcasting facility and a symbol of Communist power. The tower remains visible across most districts of Berlin.
