Phuket

Land of White-Gold Beaches

Captured in March, 2024

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, famed for its white-gold beaches and jade-hued waves. For centuries, the island has been a melting pot of cultures, attracting merchants, adventurers, and settlers from across Asia and Europe. This era of trade and cultural exchange laid the foundation for Phuket’s diverse community, comprising Thai Buddhists, Chinese Taoists, and Malay Muslims, among others. Many of the photographs in this collection were taken at Bang Tao Beach during sunrise and sunset, providing a spectacular kaleidoscope of colours in keeping with the island’s rich and diverse history.
